About Us

For too long Accounting has had a reputation of being run by old-school, slow-moving Accountants. At Rise Accounting, we’re changing the narrative.

Rise Accounting was set up in September 2021 with just 3 founding employees. Today, we stand at 80 employees globally who support our 600 strong client base. With a proven strategy in building and growing professional services, we’re on track to double the size of our client base and employee count in the next 12-months.

While our client-first service approach helps us attract new clients, it’s our streamlined, cloud-based operational setup which keeps our clients for the long-term. Having built a growing business in the UK, we see a huge opportunity in the US to both; serve UK based clients who are looking to Incorporate in the US, as well as attract US companies who need an improved, personalised and cloud-based model to streamline their Accounting needs.

We’re now looking to hire our first Senior Accountant, who will work with our Founding team to set up our US Office. This is a rare opportunity to not only manage compliance and client relationships but also help us build a team and establish our US presence from the ground up. If you’re looking for a role where you can make a real impact, this could be it.

If you think you have the skill set and attitude to help us in our mission, please apply using the details below and we’d love to arrange an initial call!

The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Accountant with strong experience in US compliance filings, venture-backed startup accounting, and regulatory requirements. You’ll be responsible for handling key filings related to investors, cap tables, and other governance matters while working closely with clients to ensure they’re financially set up for success.

Beyond the technical side, this role is about building relationships—both with clients and within our growing team. You’ll manage junior bookkeepers, provide strategic financial insights, and help shape how we operate in the US market alongside our Founders.

Key Responsibilities:

US Compliance & Regulatory Filings

  • Prepare and file corporate tax returns, financial statements, and regulatory reports.
  • Manage compliance for Small to Medium businesses, including investor filings, cap table changes, and shareholding updates.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations.

Client Management & Advisory

  • Build strong, long-term relationships with US business owners and their respective finance teams.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business growth.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for financial planning and compliance strategies.

Team Leadership & Growth

  • Have the ability and drive to manage and mentor a team of junior bookkeepers and accountants.
  • Establish best practices and processes for our US accounting operations.
  • Support the strategic growth of our US office.

Experience & Qualifications

  • CPA qualification is required.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting firm or startup environment.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, tax compliance, and regulatory filings.
  • Experience working with venture-backed startups and scale-ups is beneficial but not a must.
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks or Xero; certification in either is preferred.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong understanding of investor compliance filings and cap table management.
  • Excellent client-facing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of the US accounting function.
  • Experience managing a team is a plus.

Why Join Us?

  • Be our first US hire and play a key role in shaping our presence in the market.
  • Work with a fast-growing, global accounting firm that values innovation and client success.
  • Build and lead a team, with opportunities for career growth.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
